Mickey
I just discovered a new awesome feature in VW2013. The overlords have taken away another tool I use. Does anyone ever get a random orphan when using Lightwrite? It's way better than it used to be but I still get a few random orphans. When that happens I turn on the column in LW "Vectorworks UID", and look up the UID for the odd ball fixtures Then when I had VW2012 or older I would use the Find and Modify tool and search for "Light (whose) UID = 2492.1.1.0.0" It would select the orphan, and I could then delete it. The orphans are often in out of site places and hard to find. No I don't like to delete them out of LW because sometimes the orphans are real lights with corrupted data, and they need to be updated. Does anyone have another way of searching by UID? Anyone at Nemetschek reading this? Why did you take that away? See attached pictures Quote Link to comment
SAR
Would not the "select in Vectorworks" function in LW5 solve your issue. Steve Ross Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee klinzey Posted June 21, 2013 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted June 21, 2013 Use Tools>Custom Selection It will let you select but not modify. There was no need to modify the UID and several other fields so we removed them form the list. Quote Link to comment
