Rooflight not making hole in Roof

I've inserted a Skylight (A Velux one from the VW library) into a Roof but it's not displaying correctly in 3D view.

If I try to resolve this is by editing the position of the symbol contents I can get it to appear but it still doesn't form a hole in the roof surface.

Any ideas what's going wrong here? My roof is 413 mm thick.

Is this a single roof object or a collection of roof objects?

I've noticed a number of issues with the Roof Object in VW2013...one of them being that Roof Objects configured as a single plane will not allow holes of any kind to be cut into them.

I have no choice but to use a Roof Face in this instance.

Try selecting the roof, >Edit Group then in a top plan view, draw the cutout.

Not sure how it will interact with the roof light in 2013 though

Kizza, do you mean ungroup into roof faces?

Note that rooflight inserts to the bottom face of the roof. I thought Nemetschek has been employing architects to avoid this kind of thing?

Ah right, cheers, I was looking in the Edit menu. That seems to work, although it's quite difficult to edit. The file has also become very unstable and navigating in OpenGL has become very slow. But I don't know if that's related to this or a crash I had last night before left.
