allannathan
Are VWX files that are watermarked with "Vectorworks Educational Version" slower than non-watermarked files? I usually don't have any problems with small files (this one is 13.3mb). I've got 22gb of RAM and a 4gb GPU, but I've got a file that's watermarked, and it just seems slow as hell-- even when I've got no PDF's or classes/layers on that have a lot of points. What gives? michaelk
I have not found educational watermarked files to be slower. Probably some geometry in the drawing that vw doesn't like. Beware of the seat symbols that a lot of educational users in theater departments like to use - especially if they are from an older version. They can really bog down a drawing. hth mk Quote Link to comment
allannathan
This file has a LOT of seats (3483). I'll do a test. Thanks, Michael! Quote Link to comment
michaelk
That's almost certainly the problem. If you edit the 3D part of the symbol to take out any curves and swap any EAPs for simple extrudes the file will pop back to life. hth mk Quote Link to comment
