Malkatraz
I've imported a PDF cabinetry layout into my drawing to trace over. The Vectorworks cursor can detect all the various grips/ midpoints/ centrepoints of the PDF I've imported, however they're all uniformly offset/ shifted from the PDF "image". Does anyone know of a way I can justify the grips to line through with the image? Is there something I've done when I've imported it? I'm using Vectorworks 2010, SP4 - Fundamentals/ Architect. Dieter @ DWorks
You can snap to the contents because it's a vector based drawing in the pdf. That it's shifted may be some sort of bug. Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
You might try to import it again into a new clean file just to check. Also, with vector based PDF's it is possible to Ungroup the PDF and end up with actual lines to work with. Quote Link to comment
Malkatraz
Thanks, guys. I'll have a go at re-importing it into a clean file, see if that does the trick. Quote Link to comment
bcd
I've seen this before with cropped pdfs - You might try converting the pdf to a group and turning down the opacity or even chucking image component - at least that way you will know exactly what your clicking on. Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Depending on how the PDF was created it might be a problem with the PDF not lining up the vector and raster portions. Try Peter Cipes idea and Ungoup the imported PDF. You should end up with three objects. Top: A raster image object. Delete this. Middle: A plain white rectangle that represents the page. Delete this. Bottom: A group containing all of the vector information in the file. Trace this or enter/un-group and use the objects as they are. Quote Link to comment
GWS
I've had this before and although the 'grips' are offset they were all offset by the same degree and therefore accurate to each other so tracing over them did give the right results if not lined up wit the image. Quote Link to comment
