First step might be for 3Dconnexion to make universal driver software so that Macs aren't singled out as 2nd class citizens and endless lists of workarounds must be used in order to be able to take advantage of otherwise great hardware.

But VW assist might help too . . . .

Will, add a signature to your profile with system/hardware/version details, so that forum users don't need to ask which/what/how/why when in trying to answer your posts.

An update received from the good guys at 3Dconnexion regarding compatibility with Macs concerning the Space Pilot Pro but i assume also the other 3Dconnexion products, starting this week(not sure which day exactly) a "Public Release"(not Beta as they have been up until now) of "3DxWare 10 driver". It was also indicated that it is up to Nemets to make the Mac version of VW capable of using 3Dconnexion Software/Hardware as it is already for the Windows version.

That said, it was pointed out that the 3Dconnexion mapping will now be available in more than just 3D software/space as you can see in the following quote:-

"

Regarding applications that do not offer 3D mouse support (such as system applications & browsers), we have added functionality in the 3DxWare 10 driver (public version due for release next week) which enables users to ?map? mouse and keyboard commands to the 3D mouse controller cap axes and buttons. For example, you can assign mouse scroll wheel up / down to the controller cap tilt forward / backward so that the 3D mouse provides scrolling functionality in Finder or your browser."

Thanx to John for keeping me posted. Here's a link to the Beta just in case someone(like me) has been out of the loop.

It's Beta, so no tech support til the public version is released.
