line trim / extend - tutorials

if you know of anything that I will speed up my drawing please let me know.

outside of trimming a few lines this software seems to be very cumbersome at trimming or extending lots of lines at once.

both Autocad and archicad have spoiled me! on these type functions.

OK, got the clip tool working right. it seems to be pretty versatile.

now, extend with out having to clk clk clk clk clk would be OUTSTANDING!

Try using Option Drag to multiple select everything the marquee touches (eg all the lines that need extending) then Shift Click for the 'extend to' line/object. Of course it is also very helpful when you think ahead in terms of Layers and classes, so that you can have a select group of objects visible...

OK here's what you do if you want to extend multiple lines to a single other:

First select all the lines to be extended,

Then select the Combine/Connect tool (use the first mode bar option)

Then while holding down the Option Key, click on one of the 'to be extended lines' and then on the line 'to be connected too',

Done.
