Subtract one object on multiple objects

Bruce Kieffer

Question

We can subtract multiple objects on one object, and we can clip one object on multiple objects, but we can't subtract one object on (from) multiple objects. Bryan G. and I were trying to shorten ten common rafters to meet on a hip rafter, and we had to do each one individually. Having a multiple subtract function would save a lot of time.

I've tried both the Section Solids and the Split Tool. For this model the trim tool does seem to be the best solution. It leaves the rafters as separate object, and they have history mode editing. Thanks for the help. See the screen shot. This is a rough draft of a pergola that Bryan is designing.
