Bob Holtzmann
I've been looking at this plug-in for a long time. It basically uses a custom automotive vehicle to draw tire tracks on your drawing as it drives in various directions. For a long time, it was only available for purchase in the Japanese language version. But now there's a free demo English version for Vectorworks 2011. Try it! http://stickpackage.sub.jp/ Quote Link to comment
Dieter @ DWorks
You can get such a plugin for free through Service Select, named Truck Space. You can set any vehicle on a polyline and then the space needed will be shown. You can even change the poly after the creation because it's a path based object. Quote Link to comment
DE-Tech
Hi DWorks, Where abouts is this plugin on Service Select? I can't find it in my downloads library. Is it a case that it is not available to UK users? Many thanks. Quote Link to comment
michaelk
Stick car works great - but only if the document units are set to millimeters. If the units are set to feet and inches it goes crazy. Truck space doesn't exist on the US Service Select site either. What is it? mk Quote Link to comment

I can't find it either, can you post the plugin here Dieter? Couldn't help once again making my own icon for the StickCar  feel free to use it if it tickles your fancy...... Bob Holtzmann
I've opened the Stickcar stationery file, and tried the Prius car - works fine. The Obj Info Palette displays metric units initially, but will change to Imperial if you change the document preference's units. I do have a problem with the car doing donuts, though. michaelk
On my computer whenever I switch to feet and inches the turning angle switches from degrees to a very small feet and inches measurement and the car starts doing doughnuts. mk Quote Link to comment
Bob Holtzmann
I recall the previous version of StickCar never had the donut problem - it ran under Vectorworks 8, and you would simply click where you want the car to go. The author did state that this is an alpha version, meaning it has more bugs than a beta. Still, it's a nice start - I like how it uses 2D symbols to choose the graphic outline of a car. VW and it's users would benefit from all stuff. I once could on the US VSS due to my country settings of my pc and I saw that there are a massive amount of tutotials and libraries we don't have. I wish that they did the VSS site worldwide. Edited January 14, 2013 by DWorks Quote Link to comment

mike m oz
I've overlaid StickCar's generated paths over some AustRoads templates I have and from what I can see its paths are not even close to being correct. The best option I have found is autotrack from the UK. It is available as a standalone package which can run on both PCs and Macs (Bootcamp or Parallels): - AutoTrack Roads Pro does complex animated path simulations. - Autotrack Templates Pro does simple static path diagrams. Input and output is via DXF (Note - the cheapest available option AutoTrack Templates doesn't input and output DXF so don't bother with it). http://www.savoycomputing.com/home Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee JuanCarlos Posted January 24, 2013 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted January 24, 2013 Truck Space should be available to VSS US in a few weeks Enjoy! Quote Link to comment
StickMan
The donut problem of StickCar is settled already, so when it's good, please download it from this link destination and try. StickCar :https://github.com/stickpackage/stickcar Quote Link to comment
