acdeslx
Okay, that subject sounds confusing to me and I wrote it. Using VW2012, I've imported a .pdf drawing into it's own layer. I've then changed the layer's opacity to 25%. I've added my own layers of actual VW drawing on top of it. Now, when I export it to a .pdf, the imported .pdf shifts up and to the left with relation to the other layers. If I just print it out, the same thing happens. It looks great on the Top or Top/Plan view on the screen. I've tried "align layer views" and various "unified view" options but it makes no difference. What could I be doing wrong here? Thanks. Benson Shaw
I have not seen this, but here is something to try. Make the pdf page a group. Then it has OIP location info. Might make a difference on the export or print if it is a usual object (Group) rather than a special one (PDF Page). -B Quote Link to comment
acdeslx
Great idea Benson but it didn't work. Dave Quote Link to comment
Bryan G.
I do the same thing with PDF's for my plans but have not come across this issue yet. I will play to see if I can duplicate. Have you tried it on another (New) file so see if it does it again. Quote Link to comment
Benson Shaw
I was just about to clarify that I mean cmd G, not cmd K. Sorry it had no effect. What happens if you make the pdf layer full opacity? Did the page boundary/drawing origin change for any of the layers? Does it matter if you print/save directly from design layers or in a sheet layer viewport? Did you test this in a new fresh file with just the pdf and a few objects on other layers? With some other pdf? -B Quote Link to comment
acdeslx
Wow, this is getting cooler by the minute -- if I wasn't under a deadline... It does have something to do with Opacity. If the opacity of the .pdf is at 100% then the output is correct. If the opacity is <100% then VW rotates the .pdf 180 degrees and potentially shifts the origin -- can't quite tell about the origin. Now I tried changing the opacity of the object (.pdf page) rather than the layer and the same thing happened. I think there's a bug here somewhere. If I export a .jpg then everything displays correctly -- exactly as it appears on the screen. Oh, I and I did try using that .pdf in a new file with the same result.
