Installing VW10.5 on Windows 7

Hi.

I'm having trouble installing VW10.5 on my new Windows 7 PC (64 bit). I thought I'd updated the HASP driver but it still says that I need to update my dongle drivers. Can anyone direct me as to what I should do?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Wow, 10.5 is many years before my tenure at Nemetschek Vectorworks, and I've been with the company for more than five years now.

Have you upgraded to the latest from here? I know you said you thought you upgraded, but this is the best site to get the latest and greatest:

I have absolutely no idea if any of this works though. Perhaps someone else will wander in and have some pointers.

Duncan, why not downgrade your computer to XP? I'm pretty sure you will find that Vectorworks 10.5 is not supported on windows 7

Thank you for the replies which have been helpful.

Through setting up a virtual pc and directing VW10.5 to run on Windows XP (sp3) I've got it to open but only in DEMO mode!!! I'm now trying to find how to add my serial number (it's not in Pref > Session).

Any ideas?

I'm wondering if the dongle driver is running in windows 7 whilst VW is running in XP!

If I can get this to work I'll have saved a lot of money!

I think you may find performance issues when running in a virtual machine, but also passing through the dongle might be difficult as well, although I'm not sure on either count.

Make sure install the dongle driver on the XP version too.....
