Viewport class visibility bug

Recommended Posts

Oh boy, this insidious one's caught us out a few times.

Go to a viewport which has a lot of classes (enough that you have to scroll the Viewport Class Properties window to see them all). Now turn all them on or off using keyboard modifier (option-click on Mac), but don't scroll down, just click Okay. Now open window again and scroll. You should see that it hasn't changed the status of any classes that weren't visible.

To get it to work you have to turn all classes on or off and then scroll the window so you've also seen all the classes before clicking on Okay.

Everyone else get this behaviour?

This is insidious because it sends you off in the wrong direction, thinking there's something wrong with workgroup referencing or something wrong with your model, etc.

With so many bugs and deficiencies it's often hard to know whether the software is at fault or the user. This is what we spend a lot of our time trying to work out in a 3D workflow.
