Christiaan
I need to add parapet rainwater and overflow outlets to our elevations and plans. Which I'd like to do in the 3D model. In 2D we would insert a symbol into the parapet wall on plan, comprising a couple of dotted lines to represent the scupper through the wall (and then draw them on elevation). The problem in 3D is that we've modelled our parapet cappings (using hybrid symbols or auto hybrids) and these sit on top of the wall, obscuring the wall in top plan view. So it seems the only way to add these outlets in 3D and have them appear correctly on the floor plans is to place the symbol on top of the parapet cappings in top plan view without inserting them into the walls. Which is less than ideal because if we change any walls we have to remember to move all the parapet outlets too. How are others doing this? Quote Link to comment
John Meunier
Christiann, See the attached Vectorworks file for how we add scupper overflows to our drawings. [img:left]http://techboard.vectorworks.net/ubbthreads.php?ubb=download&Number=8358&filename=Scupper.jpg[/img] Quote Link to comment
Christiaan
Thanks John, best of a bad situation I guess. I'll tick this one up as yet another example of how badly VWA understands buildings and drafting standards. Quote Link to comment
