Jonathan Pickup
Select the rectangle tool (or any planar tool) and then try the Automatic plane Edited November 10, 2012 by Jonathan Pickup Quote Link to comment
Benson Shaw
Automatic Plane was introduced in v2012. It auto enables when you are working with 2d and 3d object creation tools near a suitable target plane (eg top or face of an extrude, or wall). The word Automatic appears in the Plane field of the menu bar. Toggle btw Automatic Plane & Layer Plane with the backslash key \ v2013 adds a plane options dialog in the Plane menu to limit drawing to screen plane or working plane. This stays in effect until you change it. Screen plane pref defeats the Automatic mode - no toggle. Ya get used to it after awhile -B Quote Link to comment
mike m oz
Simple rule of thumb: - If you are doing 2D work use Screen Plane for your 2D elements. - If you are doing 3D work use Layer Plane for your 2D elements. The one exception to the 3D rule is hybrid symbols where to get the 2D view you require your 2D elements have to be Screen Plane. Quote Link to comment
