Dimensioning

Hi,

If I have a front view and in my viewport (annotations) I dimension the wall height and then go back to my design layer and change the wall height the viewport dimension does not update.

I also tried AEC > Dimension Exterior Walls but once again it does not update.

I know I must be doing something wrong but I am not sure what it is.

Could someone please point me in the right direction

No you're not doing anything wrong. Associative dimensions don't work in Viewport Annotations, at least not in this case. I think in some cases they work on a plan view, but I'm not sure which.

afaik associated dimensions still only work in 2d on planar /hybrid objects (eg walls in top/plan)

similarly the Dimension Exterior Walls command is 2d only

What is the 'usual' way to dimension wall heights?

Do I just wait until nothing more will change then add the dimensions?

That's probably the best approach. No such thing as usual in VW.
