Vectorworks 2014, big wishlist items in by end of October

Christiaan

Question

I'm taking one last shot at documenting the BIM improvements we need in Vectorworks Architect on http://needleandmortar.com By v2014 we'll either be BIMing economically in VW or we'll be transitioning to Revit/Archicad.

I've recently updated the wiki software to be easier to use but I've also lost Chris D who made a great contribution to the site (his company is moving to the dark side), so I'd welcome input from others: http://needleandmortar.com/wp-login.php?action=register

I want to get in as early as possible in the development cycle this time too. That means we need to have any large requests specified by end of October.

Thanks, Christian and all N&M!

Comment re 1.9 Dual Metric Units:

Please increase that to Multi Units.

Not limited to dual

Not limited to metric (Metric, Imperial, Astronomical, Custom, any and all).

We should be able to apply unit of choice to any selection of unit aware objects. Options to apply through prefs, commands, object style settings, classes, and OIP. This should be base Vectorworks, not restricted to localized versions

Vincent, when you're logged in, at the very top of the page is a menu bar. Mouse over "New" and then click on "Wiki".

ubbthreads.php?ubb=download&Number=8260&filename=new-wiki.png

Fill out the heading, click on save and this will create a new wiki page. From there you can just grab the URL from your web browser.

If you have a number of items on one page and you want to link to a particular item then you just give each item a heading (and this will automatically create a table of contents at the top of the page, then you can copy a link from there, like this one:

http://needleandmortar.com/wiki/main-headline-wishlist-for-v2014/#priority-2

To give each item a heading (and hence create an automatic table of contents) you click on "Show kitchen sink" in the formatting bar when editing a page, select the title of the item, then choose "Heading 2" from the drop-down menu on the left.
