Christiaan
Is it possible to extract a bump image from an existing texture? Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Tamsin Slatter Posted September 14, 2012 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted September 14, 2012 If your texture is image based, you can right-click it on the Resource Browser and choose Extract Image. You could use this to create a bump map image in image editing software. HTH Quote Link to comment
Danielj1
You can only extract the image used for the Color shader, but not for any of the other shaders if those use different images. If you right-click on a texture in the RB and choose Extract Image, what will be extracted is the image used in the Color shader only. If you edit the texture to eliminate all images used in the various shaders except for the Bump shader, for example, you won't be able to extract that one because the extract image command will not be visible then. Vectorworks, Inc Employee Dave Donley Posted October 3, 2012 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted October 3, 2012 Yes the extract image command is currently limted to only seeing the color shader images. It is a wish to give you a choice about which image to extract, so that you can extract bump or mask or other images. Quote Link to comment
