Uli
Is it possible to show quickly, only the selcted objects which I get with the custom selection tool? Like classes and layers show active only? VW Landmark 2010 Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
It would be possible, if all those objects were in their own class or layer... Quote Link to comment
VincentCuclair
I have a command that makes it possible to toggle (invert) class visibility which I usually use for exactly this situation, first I use the visibility tool to hide the objects I need then I run the command to show only the objects I need. For this to work you need to have the objects in certain classes as Peter suggests. Otherwise I am not aware of any good solution to this at the moment. (Put the command in the Plug-Ins folder in your Vectorworks Folder, then add it to your workspace through the workspace editor.) Quote Link to comment
Uli
Thank you for your help. The problem is that it is not always sure that I have all selected objects on the same class/layer. Maybe it is not too difficult to program the option show only selected. Regards Uli Quote Link to comment
grant_PD
I asked for this as well. Best workaround: with all classes/layers editable, select what you want, group, and hide others while in groups. Then edit the group. Quote Link to comment
Uli
Thank you, I will try the workaround. Quote Link to comment
Chris D
Best workaround: with all classes/layers editable, select what you want, group, and hide others while in groups. Then edit the group. Terrible workaround and typical of Vectorworks fudges. Destructive editing just to view something the way you need. Grouping objects that have associations, are cross-layered, have constraints etc etc is destructive. Hopefully this is fixed in 2013. Quote Link to comment
