Alora
I am designing a 2 story commercial building, which will have a large opening where the stairs will be located. I would like to show my clients a unified view isometric showing the stairs leading down to the ground floor. How do I create an opening in the floor? Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
I'm sure that the video posted shows this, but it's easy to make a hole in a Floor: draw the the shape of the hole (as a closed polygon or rectangle), then select the Floor and the Hole and use command Clip Surface. Then delete the Hole and Voila! Quote Link to comment
Alora
That's exactly what the video showed and it worked like a charm? Is the procedure similar for making windows transparent? Quote Link to comment
taoist
That's exactly what the video showed and it worked like a charm? Is the procedure similar for making windows transparent? What do you mean by transparent? Openings will show in walls in 2D and 3D modes. Quote Link to comment
Alora
The windows do show up in the isometric but I want to be able to see through them. Quote Link to comment
michaelk
Does the OIP say "window" or "window in wall"? Quote Link to comment
michaelk
Also, check the window Settings, View tab. Make sure Glazing is set to clear. Quote Link to comment
Alora
Glazing is set to clear but what is OIP? Quote Link to comment
Ozzie
OIP = Object Info Pallette Quote Link to comment
Alora
I use Object Info all of the time and the Windows are in Wall. Quote Link to comment
Tom G.
Object Info Palette Make sure you have the window in the wall first of all. Sometimes we think the window is in the wall but it isn't. If you uncheck the Wall Insertion Mode* button (shows as not darkened) and try dragging the window off the wall, if it's in the wall properly, it won't come out. If it comes out with this lock on, it never was correctly in the wall in the first place. *first icon in the top most menu bar next to the (3) double headed arrows. Quote Link to comment
