Grouping Tool

ChadL

Question

Thought of an interesting tool for VW. I would like a tool or option 'click to add to group.' The way this would work is, in a drawing I have a bunch of things I want to group (they may be the same may be different), I would select this tool and simply click everything I want to add to the group. Currently to do this you have to shift click everything you want then group it. This tool would add things to the group as you click them. You could also have options in this tool to change class, or line weight or color, or pretty much anything that you would want to assign to a bunch of items.

Maybe there already is something in VW like this, I just haven't seen it.

Magic wand is fine when it works. The problem with it is, if I want to select only 1 type of lighting instrument it doesn't work, or if I want to select all squares of the same size it doesn't work. Also what if I want to select non-similar items for my group, and not all of the same type of an item?

Bryan, you can just edit your workspace and assign a keystroke for those tools.

And now I see what your saying and yes it could be nice to have a tool for this, but shift select and group is almost the same.

Maybe in the instances I am thinking of, S.S.G. would work, and maybe there are some instances where your tool would be good. Maybe a VS guru would be able to generate this.
