alfresco
Can anyone suggest the best way to indicate the door swing direction either within a door schedule or other practices. Thanks! Quote Link to comment
Mitchell Brooks
As far as I know, there is no way to indicate to VW how it should interpret the direction of the swing. One door in one wall swinging one way could be construed to be a simple left swing or a reverse right swing, depending which way you are considering or viewing the door. Partly because of this, we have given up indicating the swings on door schedules which we usually prepare in Excel in any case. It doesn't seem to have caused any problem. That information usually comes back to us as part of the shop drawings, both in the door and in the hardware shop drawings. Quote Link to comment
taoist
Why not use the Data Tab for this in the OIP? I have not used worksheets but I would think that the Data associated with the door is possible to report. As far as swing goes, stand in the doorway, with your back to the hinged jamb. Whatever arm / hand you use to open the door is the swing. Of course you have inswing and outswing for exterior doors. Most manufacturers in the USA view doors from the exterior.
