taoist
How does one control or edit the default lighting in OpenGL? Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
Control the AMOUNT of light with VIEW>LIGHTING>SET LIGHTING OPTIONS. Control the DIRECTION of light(s) various ways: 1) Use a Heliodon Object (or the older Set Sun Position tool) to create a "Sun" object, mainly good for exterior applications. 2) Use a Light (there are various types available) or multiple lights. Great for interiors but takes some fussing with at first until you get the hang of it, also can dramatically increase rendering times. Also, depends on whether your Open GL options are set to Use Shadows or not... Is that what you are after?? Quote Link to comment
taoist
Peter, Thanks for the reply. Yes & no. I do not use shadows in OpenGL. When I do a render using OpenGl there is a light source that apperas to be from the left side as you can see the pecular effect of the light. Is this an automatic setting that can't be edited? Once one uses "lights" does it overide the default? Quote Link to comment
Kizza
VW uses a default lighting method . When you use a light or a heliodon, the default lighting is overridden. Getting started with renderworks will shed some light on the subject http://www.vectorworks.net/training/free_resource.php Edited June 2, 2012 by Kizza Quote Link to comment
