I'm also looking for a good roof hatch, shingles.

Anybody?

I am still baffled by the Hatch editing tool, like how can I make a curvy hatch for wood grain?

Hey Chris,

Go to Vector Depot

they have a ton of great resources there including hatches- I think there is a wood hatch in there, if not I have stumbled on a few other sites with free hatches available that you can import to your VW library so keep looking.

I have found creating hatches from scratch with the hatch editing tool pretty tricky- better to just edit an existing one a bit.

Thanks, I did look at those hatches, but none really worked for my needs. I will check around the web to see what else is out there.

What I don't understand about the hatch tool is that it seems to create vertical segments in a way that the lines don't repeat in a nice horizontal orientation but radiate out from the center so that the center looks right but as it gets further away form the origin they step incrementally.

Not sure what that is all about.

and how do you make a curved hatch line!? I have no idea!
