2D Representation of Sketchup Import

Haydenovative

Question

Hey Guys,

I don't have Architect so I imported a toilet from 3D Warehouse, I got it in to my file OK but when its viewed in top/plan because it has so many facets it is just a black blob, is there a way I can attach a simpler 2D image for top views? I have tried editing the 2D component but there is nothing there for reference. Any help?

In top plan view select the object.

Modify > Convert > Convert COPY to Lines.

In the following dialog box choose hidden line.

Select all the 2D and 3D bits and pieces.

Modify > Create Symbol etc, etc.

hth

MK

Or edit the 3D part of the symbol do the above steps and make sure the new 2D bits are in the Screen Plane. They will migrate all by themselves to the 2D part.
