jamesmise
Since the last service pack, I can longer show page breaks on a sheet layer. I can do this on design layers. For instance, if I'm using 11 x 17 paper, I can specify 6 pages and across and 4 pages down and I will see all 24 page boundaries on my layer. But this feature has disappeared on sheet layers. If I specify 6 pages across and 4 pages down, my paper size changes to 66 x 68 with one giant page boundary showing on the sheet layer. Many people were gathered at my desk today trying to figure this one out. Even in older files from years ago, these individual page boundaries are no longer shown. Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Do you have Unified View turned on? There is a setting to hide the page breaks there as well as in Page Setup. Quote Link to comment
jamesmise
I don't see that in the Unified View options in 2012. And Unified View isn't active in Sheet Layers. Thanks though! Quote Link to comment
jamesmise
Here is a simple file showing the problem. Go to the sheet layer. Go to page setup and try to show more than one page. You will see the paper size increase instead of multiple page boundaries showing. Jim Quote Link to comment
michaelk
Works as expected for me... mk Quote Link to comment
jamesmise
Really? Thanks. I have the same problem on two different computers and five different printers. Maybe someone with Windows 7 can try my file. Jim Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
I thought there was a setting for this in Unified View Options, but I can't find it tonight. Quote Link to comment
mike m oz
Show Page Breaks works for me as well when I have that option check marked in the Sheet Layer Page Setup dialog box. Quote Link to comment
jamesmise
Mike: What version of Vectorworks are you using and what operating system? I'm trying to narrow this problem down. Maybe I need to do a reinstall, but this seems unlikely since its two different computers that have the problem. Thanks, Jim Quote Link to comment
mike m oz
Given that both michaelK and I are using Vw 2012 on Mac OS 10.6.7 and neither of us are having the problem perhaps it is a Windows 7 issue. Quote Link to comment
jamesmise
Thanks. When I switched my background to black I can see the page breaks on a sheet layer. I've attached two images. The first is a sheet layer view with a white background and the second with a black background. So the page breaks are there. I'm just not seeing them with a white background. This is not a problem on design layers. For now I can switch to a black background to make sure my layouts are correct. And I can draw page borders that will be seen when I have a white background. bc
They do seem to mask out your grid, though. Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Check your Interactive Appearance Settings. General - Page Boundary. My guess is that the opacity is set all the way to the left (transparent). There are separate settings for black background and white background. Quote Link to comment
jamesmise
Yes, that was it. The default opacity is too light, but only for Windows 7 users. Thanks Pat. I also heard from Gunther at Nemetschek who also confirmed this. -Go to Tools > Options > Vectorworks Preferences > Interactive pane and click the, ?Interactive Appearance Settings? button -Choose, ?General ? Page Boundary? on the left -Then, increase the, ?Opacity? slider on the right Quote Link to comment
