tile texture vs tile pattern

What is the best way to design for both Construction drawings and rendering, with tiles patterns or with tile texture or both?

It depends for what you want to show in your construction drawings. If it is to show the tile pattern exactly because it's special, then I should use a tile pattern. If it is just a rendering for a general view, I would use a tile texture.

And if you want to put dims on the tiles, use different shapes in 2D.
