Elena
I imported close to 200 plants from an Excel spreadsheet. I see them in the VW plant database in FileMaker Pro, but when I'm working on a design and try the Edit Plant Definition and "Get Plant Data", the plants that I added don't show up. In fact only about 4400 of the 5100 plants from the database show up when I'm trying to place plants. Does anyone have an idea what I'm doing wrong? Thank you. Elena Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Tamsin Slatter Posted February 27, 2012 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted February 27, 2012 Hi Elena When you click Get Plant Data, it doesn't actually read the database. It reads some text files that are exported from your database. Here's what to do: Open the Database again Search for your newly added plants (hopefully there is something you added that will enable you to distinguish them from the other records) Choose File > Create Vectorworks Plant List Name your list and click OK. Then, Vectorworks will be able to read this list when you click Get Plant Data. Hope that helps! Quote Link to comment

Elena
Thank you Tamsin and Ozzie! Luckily I had entered unique information in one field and so I was able to extract the plants I added and saved them as a plant list. Now I can access them in Landmark. So much to learn! Thanks again! Quote Link to comment
