TCryan
Just encountered something new which has me puzzled, whenever I move a lighting unit to a different layer a duplicate of that unit is also created. It seems to occur in all the drawings I open, and this is a new problem which I've just discovered today. Any thoughts as to why this is, or suggestions as to how I can stop it would certainly be appreciated. (Running spotlight on 2012). Thanks. Quote Link to comment
SAR
Is it possible that the "Allow ctrl-click in-place duplication" is on in your preferences and that is causing this? Steve Quote Link to comment
TCryan
Hi Steve, Thanks for the suggestion, I just looked but "Allow ctrl-click in-place duplication" is off. best, Tim Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee klinzey Posted February 24, 2012 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted February 24, 2012 Have you updated to 2012 SP2? If you were using the Lightwright data exchange and changed the layer of a lighting device you would end up with a duplicate light on both layers. This was fixed in SP2. If you have updated and are still having problems please let us know. Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Could you Option/Alt key be stuck? That will cause any drag to be considered a duplicate instead of a move? Are you using any keyboard/mouse enhancement software? Could you have gotten your mouse/trackball button programmed to be an Option click instead of just a click? Just wild guesses. TCryan
Hi I am on SP1. The program tells me that I am up to date when I use the search for update function. interesting. I'll look for Sp2 in the downloads area. thanks Quote Link to comment
TCryan
Spoke with the folks at Nemetschek tech support. they looked at my file but could not recreate the problem, Ultimately they suggested that I go into my settings folder and delete the VectorWorks Preferences.XML file C:> Program Files (x86)> Vectorworks2012 > Settings > VectorWorks Preferences.XML Rebooted the program and now all is fine (or at least it seems that way). will look into Kevin suggestion above about updating to SP2. TCryan
well, it turns out that deleting the preferences file did not help after all (the problem returned). I installed SP2, and that seems to have worked (so far). Quote Link to comment
