Brick texture turning into stripes

Does anyone know why my brick textures are turning into stripes when rendered? The textures are made using the Brick colour shader. The models are Viewports from another file.

The bits of wall that look okay are wall ends and reveals.

I've been seeing weird directional behavior of textures on nurbs curves. Double clicking the object makes it wake up and turn the texture to the correct direction. I don't know if it's switching from one kind of mapping to another?

Maybe that would help with walls, too.

But that wall treatment would certainly turn some heads...

Thanks Michael. Problem is they're Viewports, referenced from another file, so I can't select the walls or anything like that. If I render them in the original file they look fine.

Is it something to do with them being referenced viewports. I stuck a bit of brick wall directly into the file alongside the referenced models and it looks fine. Argh, workgroup referencing!!

I've never tried this... but is it possible to override the class texture in a referenced VP? Or is the texture just in a wall style?

I think you should build a striped building.

Looks like the mortar joints are lined up with the side of the other wall, i.e. thay are smearing along the other wall because they are mapped from the side. Is the wall set to the same Planar mapping for all the walls or are they a single object with Planar mapping? You might change it to Auto-Align planar.

Hi Dave, all walls are already set to Auto-Align Plane. Changing it to Plane did the trick, thanks. Shall I submit a bug?

Yes please, were the textures applied as viewport class overrides? Do the design layers have these textures applied or are they only on in the viewport?
