dormer wall join

Anyone know how to get the walls to join on this kind of dormer (often referred to as a "wall dormer", "through dormer", or "engaged dormer")?

If I use the l join, the lower main wall is clipped at the end of the dormer. If I use-the T-join, it just doesn't do anything.

I've read through just about every topic/thread on wall joins and dormers and haven't found the solution.

Help anybody?

You'll have to split the wall horizontally, make sure wall 2 is in the same location but z height exactly on top of wall1

Also use two layers for this. the 2 upper walls on the upper layer, the 2 lower walls on the lower layer. Such connections ask a lot of practice and tricks to accomplish.

Agreed, had a nightmare modelling a loft conversion, where a triangular (in elevation) section of the wall is new and the rest is existing. And then I can't join the party walls and the external walls because the external walls are on the layer below (and the party walls slope down to meet them just at the corner).

thanks for the tips, I resolved my issue.

now I am the master of dormers and wall joins!
