Christiaan
Has anyone else experience a problem when duplicating a design layer, if you start editing the new layer the same changes will take place on the original design layer? Quote Link to comment
Christiaan
Notice something strange in this image? Hint, see design layers. Quote Link to comment
Kizza
The line you've selected shouldn't be visible, right? Quote Link to comment
bc
I see that the active floor in the Nav Palette is not the same as that shown on the layer menu. Repair Permissions and restart?? Quote Link to comment
Damon Design
I've noticed that when you duplicate a design layer, viewports made from the original design layer start taking on edited/added elements from the duplicated design layer, even though the viewport is indicating it is referencing only the original design layer. Is there a work flow process or setting that in the viewports that I am missing when duplicating design layers that will prevent this? Quote Link to comment
Kevin McAllister
Tad, I think this is actually intentional. Vectorworks assumes the elements on the duplicated layer are related and want to be in the associated Viewports. It would be a nice thing to bypass at times (ie. hold down a modifier key to disable the auto linking when creating a duplicate layer) but I'm not sure I would want it to go away.... Christiaan
Tad, I think that is intentional too. The thing I'm experiencing is some kind of bug that actually synchronises duplicated design layers. Quote Link to comment
bcd
I'm not seeing this - however if it is the case that viewports are linking to layers automatically and uncontrollably, i.e. if the viewport layer's visibility isn't fully controllable via the OIP then it's certainly a bug. A duplicate layer should have no special relationships or responsibilities. Quote Link to comment
