ChadL
I am tired of doing really good renderings and then dropping in crappy looking people. Does anyone know where I can find good people symbols? Ideally I'm looking for high res/low poly people. Quote Link to comment
rcandsb
Chad- I've been using the 3d people from Got3d.com. Closeup Vectorworks renders them faceted, and I haven't been able to smooth the polygons, but from a distance, or heavily lit close up they are useful for quick project illustrations. propstuff
try this thread http://techboard.vectorworks.net/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=158637&Searchpage=1&Main=32171&Words=propstuff+mesh&Search=true#Post158637 Edited December 5, 2011 by propstuff Quote Link to comment
rcandsb
Thanks, I have tried those smoothing techniques, with no luck. As soon as I make any changes to the figures, they lose their uvw texture mapping, with no way to restore it. As far as I can tell, Vectorworks doesn't support uvw mapping, so I don't even understand how the figures maintain their texture mapping when imported. Quote Link to comment
Tom Klaber
Image props is really the way to go. Way lighter and if prepared correctly - they look great. Quote Link to comment
greenartichoke
Sorry Tom, disagree. What you are saying is that RW is just not a high end renderer. You cannot get the subtlety of lighting around a curved face etc. etc. without using full 3D images. Greenartichoke Quote Link to comment
