Columbia, Maryland (November 17, 2011) ? Nemetschek Vectorworks, Inc. is pleased to announce the publication of a new training guide for users of Vectorworks? software, Residential Garden Design with Vectorworks Landmark, Fourth Edition. In this book, author Tamsin Slatter, a leading Vectorworks Landmark expert in the U.K., guides the reader through a landscape design project from start to completion.

This tutorial covers the workflow for residential garden designers using Vectorworks Landmark software. Beginning with a site survey, it details the workflow of drawing up measurements taken on site, or importing information from a surveyor. It then explains how to draft a design and formalize it using the software's hard landscaping and planting tools and new interactive Push/Pull 3D modeling capabilities. Finally, it demonstrates how to produce hard landscaping and planting schedules and present the design in both 2D and 3D perspective views. The new Renderworks? Styles feature is employed to quickly provide customized rendered images from the 3D models. This fourth edition of the manual has been updated for use with Vectorworks 2012 software.

"I am delighted to see the fourth edition of this book come to fruition,? said Slatter. ?Vectorworks Landmark is such a huge piece of software that it can be hard for users to know where to start. This book is all about making sense of the tools and putting them into context for the garden designer, offering them a repeatable process to follow. I've aimed to explain ?Why?? at each stage of the process, so it's much more than a dry set of instructions. I loved writing it, and I hope readers find it invaluable, too."

Residential Garden Design with Vectorworks Landmark is part of Nemetschek Vectorworks? self-paced training options. These training materials are for people who like to learn on their own and at their own pace. For more information and to purchase this tutorial, please visit www.vectorworks.net/training/guides.

About Tamsin Slatter

After a twenty year career in the IT industry and working for large corporate software firms, Tamsin Slatter realized that life was passing rather too quickly and decided to make some changes. She retrained as a garden/landscape designer and loved it. However, once starting her own practice, she realized that she needed to work more quickly in order to make her work commercially viable?and returned to her laptop. Stumbling upon Vectorworks software, she was rapidly hooked. Since then, she?s become a huge advocate of the product and has written training courses that are much in demand across the U.K. and worldwide?with designers travelling from the United States, Canada and various European countries to attend her training seminars. Billed as the U.K.?s leading Vectorworks expert, Tamsin runs "Training for Design" where she has a team of trainers who all specialize in Vectorworks software.
