alfie hope
When applying colour to OS maps is there a quick way to highlight (for instance) a grassed area between path ways and apply colour?? Currently the only way i know of doing this is the laborious way of tracing around the shapes with the polygon tool.. Obviously this doesn't apply to instance where polygons exist on the OS map but often shapes are made up of collections of polylines which don't create shapes... Please help!!! Quote Link to comment
Bryan G.
Compose your shapes, then clip the shapes from one giant underlying shape ---say Turf. now you will have your different areas. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Tamsin Slatter Posted November 9, 2011 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted November 9, 2011 You could also try the Polygon tool in Polygon from Inner Boundary mode. As long as the surrounding edges of the shapes are closed and on the same design layer, Vectorworks will be able to create a new polygon to fill the space. Quote Link to comment
alfie hope
Thanks Bryan G!!! I never knew about the 'compose' tool - yet i've asked so many people who've never been able to help! And thanks also Tamsin, i've tried using the Polygon from Inner Boundary tool but it only ever seems to work on the simple outlines! Alfie Quote Link to comment
Chris D
We buy ours pre coloured now - imports fine into VW. Promap and others offer this as standard. Quote Link to comment
