Class Opacity in Viewport

Recommended Posts

I'm likely missing a setting or something. It seems to me that I've always been able to override Class opacity in a viewport. I do have Quartz turned on - I've set the Opacity way down to 10% & I still cannot see through the 10% Opacity surface. So do I need to send away box tops to get a pair of X-Ray specks?

It works great..... for 2D objects that are set to use class opacity...

All other objects need Jim's glasses.

Order 3, please.

The problem is that VW doesn't automaticly set the opacity by class, even if the 'use at creation' is checked in the class. In many cases, you have to set the opacity by class manually.

In my opinion this is a bug. I often get caught by this.

(I also doesn't set textures by class when you choose "Make all attributes by class" from the pull down in the Attributes Palette.)

I believe it's because of the default attributes.

A typical VW template file has default attributes of:

White Solid fill, Black Continuous 0.05 lineweight and 100% opacity.

You can change this for a current file with nothing selected by, for example, selecting Use Class Opacity and then Set Default Attributes. To change it for a template file make the changes and resave the template.

I believe the texture doesn't respond to the invocation because it isn't considered an attribute.

Hi Guys,

Make the texture transparent.

Works then.

Dont think its right to have to do this.

Try layer and override opacity there

B:

No Texture is present. The point of being able to over ride class Opacity on a Sheet view from my POV is to be able to have something generally viewed one way, but in a specific Sheet another way. IE the exterior is SOLID except on one Sheet it can be see through.

Sill me.
