MattG
I know this has been covered before, but I am going to ask again. I am working on a detail drawing in 3D I have a large cylinder that had threads on it that I want to model in 3D. How could I do this? I know there are various tools like screws and things that show threads but this is a custom thing and I know the dimensions I am just curious how I could model the thread on the cylinder. Any suggestions? Matt Quote Link to comment
michaelk
Sweep a triangle (and 2D locus). Make the pitch be the height of the triangle. Crank the segment angle up high enough to keep the computer's nose above water. Extrude a circle to fill in the middle. Add solids. Use the split tool to cut the ends off. hth mk Edited October 27, 2011 by michaelk Quote Link to comment
