Steve Barrett
I have created a 3" square and extruded it 10'. I would like to take this solid and duplicate array (circular) it upon it's center and have it place each copy on top of the previous (raise each copy of the solid 3 inches). I want the piece to make 2 complete revolutions and grow in height accordingly. I guess it would be similar to a DNA molicule when finished. Does anyone know a simple way to accomplish this? tom kyler_dup1
Steve, read this thread and see if you catch what's going on. Lamberto has a script that will allow you to do this in plan view...here's the link to the forum posting. The only unknown is whether or not the scipt allows a radius of 0, if you have any questions, you can repost and get some help http://techboard.nemetschek.net/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=3;t=000176 Quote Link to comment

mac@stairworks
This is similar to a question I have about using the circular duplicate array with a Z Height. I'm trying to duplicate curved stair treads and for each duplicate, the Z Height can be set to the riser height (i.e. 7")It's for a radius stair but not as tight a radius as a spiral. I realize there is a stair tool, but these are custom stairs. Any plug-ins out there??? VW12 Arch/RW Quote Link to comment
islandmon
Duplicate 3D Object Along Path works for both instances. Edit the Path to define the XYZ coordinates... quick & easy. Quote Link to comment
mac@stairworks
I've never written anything in Vectorscript. Is this something I would need to know how to use in order to make that happen? Quote Link to comment
mike m oz
EJ - I can't figure out how to do what you say. I tried to create a 3D path and then Duplicate the 3D objects along this path and did not get objects stacked and rotated vertically. Can you elaborate. Quote Link to comment
islandmon
1) Create a 2D Obj 2)Create a NURBS curve 3) Select both the Object & the NURBS Curve 4) Model>Extrude Along Path And easy way to define the path is to set-up 3D loci then connect them with a NURBS curve. Quote Link to comment
