GeoffreyP Posted April 22, 2002 Share Posted April 22, 2002 The image doesn't need to be CMYK in your file to start with - just when you hand it off to the service bureau or printer. Import the RGB image, and after your file is complete, export the image file normally (being sure that the image size and resolution is set per the vendor's requirements). Open the image in Photoshop, and then choose Image > Mode > CMYK and convert the file this way. You'll be all set. Quote Link to comment
tblla Posted April 23, 2002 Author Share Posted April 23, 2002 ok here is the dillema. when I try to import a CMYK image (a .tif in this case) it distorts the colours greatly, making them almost florescent. when i import RGB it is fine, but the image needs to be CMYK as the file is being used for commercial printing. does anyone know of a solution for this?
