Halifax TD
I have a 3D view of my stage I have created, and I am trying to indicate the location of our main speaker stack. I have the VW symbol for the UPA, and I'm trying to draw the lower of the two speakers with a 30 degree tilt. However, when I use the rotate tool, I am told I can only rotate on the Z axis, which is not what I want. How does one rotate a hybrid object on the X or Y axis? Quote Link to comment
bcd
You can only rotate a hybrid symbol about the z axis. If you duplicate the symbol and delete the duplicate's 2d component will be left with the 3d component which you can rotate at will. Quote Link to comment
Halifax TD
Thanks bcd. Wow, is that frustrating. That will require me to make that alteration on the symbols from the VW library I want to use and manipulate. Quote Link to comment
allannathan
Keep your hybrid symbol as a hybrid. Just convert it to an instrument THEN set 3d orientation. 1) select your speaker 2) spotlight>object conversion> convert to instrument 3) in your object info palette, scroll down to the bottom and check "Set 3d Orientation" 4) play around with your X Rotation and Y rotation values 5) do your happy dance 1 Quote Link to comment
