monkey
i have multiple instances of the same symbol, and i would like to create a report listing the X & Y coordinates of the symbols, can anyone point me in the right direction please????? Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Go to Tools:Reports:Create Report Change the top pull down to List All Symbols. Accept the defaults and hit OK. A worksheet will open listing all the symbols in the drawing. Go to the bottom right corner of the worksheet area and the cursor will change to a kind of black arrow thing. Click and drag to the right to add an additional column. Go to the database header row (ie. 2, not 2.1, 2.2, etc) and click in a blank column. Type in the formula: =XCenter Repeat in another blank column with =YCenter This should be the basis of what you want. Quote Link to comment
michaelk
Pat That will give you the center of the symbol, but not necessarily the insertion point. Is there a call that returns the insertion point? mk Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
It appears that XCOORDINATE and YCOORDINATE give the proper locations, but in different units. I was working on a 1:1 drawing as a test and XCenter and YCenter appear to return inches while the COORDINATE functions appear to return decimal feet. If you go in and formation the cells as DIMENSION for the number type it appears to give the correct information. Quote Link to comment
