Piero
Hi there, We use a lot of saved views in our drawings. Is there a way to have the current named saved view displayed in the toolbar so I don't forget which view I am in? Thanks, Piero Quote Link to comment

I was going to suggest the Navigation palette would help you, but again it doesn't highlight the current view - just allows you to select the one you want with a double-click. I guess a view is so transitory - all you have to do is scroll slightly and you've lost it. All the best Quote Link to comment
Piero
Thanks, Tamsin. Well, the views are not transitory in our case - we use them to make different sheets based on a single drawing by using different combinations of layers. We only work in 2D BTW. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Tamsin Slatter Posted August 4, 2011 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted August 4, 2011 Why not make Viewports on Sheet Layers? That way, you will just need to navigate to the different sheet layers to get to your different views. You will be able to see which is active on the View bar and on the Navigation palette. And then each sheet layer can have its own title block, annotations etc. Quote Link to comment
Pat Stanford
Not quite what you are looking for, but you can add a script to a saved view. From the Organization Palette, select the view and click Edit. In the upper right hand corner click the Edit Script button. Type in: Message('This is View 1'); Click OK, Click OK. Run the view. You should get a message box that tells you the view name. You can resize this and put it where ever you like. If another script runs that also creates a message, you will temporarily lose the information until you run the view again. Quote Link to comment
Piero
Pat, that's excellent - thank you Quote Link to comment
bcd
Really nice. Is there a similar way to Save As - ie overwrite an existing Saved View with the current view? Quote Link to comment
bcd
Edit - this has been added already. Navigation>Saved Views>Right Click - Redefine Quote Link to comment
