Alora
How do I create round windows? Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
You can create them using an extruded circle (as thick as wall), then Create Symbol. Make sure to check the Wall Insertion options in the symbol creation process. You can also add muntins, etc. but they need to be modeled in 3d and added to the symbol (or created first and included in the original symbol creation). I suggest you try it with a simple extrude first to get the hang of how it works... Quote Link to comment
mike m oz
Windoor is a third party plug-ins that does round windows: http://ozcad.com.au/products/windoor.php It also does combined door and window openings as well as many door and window types that the standard Door and Window plug-ins don't do. VincentCuclair
Time for NVW to make a deal with OzCAD! No use in having 2 different tools for that + WinDoor is far superior to the native window/door tool............... Quote Link to comment
Alora
OK I've created a symbol of a small round window and have tried to insert it into the plan but it stays round - how do I 'flatten'it? Quote Link to comment
michaelk
Model the window in 3D first. Then draw the 2D on top of it. Select the whole thing and create a symbol. As Peter says, make sure the wall insertion mode is on in the 2D selection tool before inserting the window. Use 2D loci in the 2D part of the symbol to control the wall breaks. Attached is a symbol you can disassemble to see how it works. hth mk Quote Link to comment
VincentCuclair
What you are essentially doing is creating a hybrid symbol (ie. 3D window + a 2D drawing that shows in Top/Plan view only). Quote Link to comment
