With the Sun object selected, click View>Lighting>Set Sun Position, to adjust the settings. If nothing is selected, that dialog creates a new directional light. A new "sun" is created each time the dialog is accessed (unless a light object is selected) but that object is never identified as the sun.

VW should recognize its own Sun once one is created for the drawing and always default to that object in the Set Sun Position dialog, even if no light object, or another light object is selected. But the Sun object is not identified as anything other than one of the light objects, unless the user gives it a name or puts it in a class or layer or something.

Too bad process doesn't work the other way (at least I can't make it work) - Select the Sun object and adjust its settings with OIP sliders and have the day/time/lat/long indictors update in View>Lighting>Set Sun Position dialog.

I agree with thread and Vincent's intent - Make the Sun tool more user friendly. That Revit one looks really well thought out.
