dewiapgraham
I have a client who requires room elevations for services and 1st fix info. I am not yet ready to do this in 3d but have a number of supplier symbols which are in 3d and 2d. what I need to do is to take the elements from a front view of the 3d symbol and apply it in a 2d elevation where I have mixed symbols. Is this possible? I suppose what I am looking to do is 'flatten' a 3d symbol back to 2d Any guidance appreciated. Quote Link to comment
Vectorworks, Inc Employee Tamsin Slatter Posted June 24, 2011 Vectorworks, Inc Employee Share Posted June 24, 2011 Try Modify>Convert>Copy to Lines This will give you a series of lines from the Front view that you can use wherever you wish. Your 3D elements will remain intact. Quote Link to comment
Farookey
Hi... Ensure to edit you hidden line options however, and change the smoothing angle for curved objects. Like toilets for example... Or else you could end up with TOO MANY LINES to handle for such a simple object! Just a tip... Quote Link to comment
dewiapgraham
That was easy. Thanks for the pointer. Quote Link to comment
