dave sec
hi, i'm really having trouble getting these viewports to work. i imported a 2d drawing from sketchup, converted it to lines, and clicked the 'create viewport' button, but it doesn't show anything. does anyone know what to do? this program is still pretty frustrating. i've been using it for 2 days now and am still struggling. CipesDesign
dave, two whole days? Wow! Are you serious? I expect it would take longer than that even with formal training. This is a complex piece of software. I think your expectations are pretty unrealistic... Quote Link to comment
rsa
Click the View port and in the object info palette check the classes and layers to make sure the correct ones are visible. You can make all the classes visible and 'preview' to see if the lines show up... Quote Link to comment
dave sec
hi! thanks for the information on layers - it helped quite a bit. i also had my 'plane' set as 'screen' instead of 'layer' for some reason which was causing issues. not really sure what that option is for right now. when i add dimensions to a design layer (and the layer is turned on), it doesn't show up in the viewport. any ideas why? i realize this is a complex piece of software! Guest Wes Gardner
Dimensions are typically "auto-classed" into the "Dimension" class - make sure this is ON in the Class Over rides of the VIEWPORT. Quote Link to comment
