does 2011 support renderfarm?

Dear all,

I'm new to this community and have been searching this site for answers to the question if it would be possible to create a small renderfarm in order to increase the render speed. Haven't found any clear answer to it.

I've purchased the new 2011 after the sweet talking of a Vectorworks salesman saying that with the new version, rendering is hugely improved as well as the speed. I even bought a new iMac with i7 processor and SSD on which it is running.

Unfortunately VW2011 is absolutely nat faster at all than v2008 which was a lot faster even running on my old G5!

Now I'm thinking to use my old G5 as a slave in a renderfarm, but havent got a clue whether this is possible with VW.

No, not possible. You can port over to a program like C4D which has networking capabilities.

Renderworks is currently a lot faster than on previous versions. You should check the right settings for textures and render options.

For farming you can send the file to cinema, there's a whole module dedicated to network render.

Quality is superior in Renderworks 2011. If you use blurriness on metals and glasees you will expirience some slowliness.
