alfresco
I am working on a landscape plan and have created a site model. I have cut in a driveway (road) using the road NURBS at the appropriate elevation stations. I need to vary the road width and add an additional landing which will also have some varying curves and grade. How do I create a road with different widths? The road NURBS tool has a set width unless I am missing something? Thanks. Quote Link to comment
Jonathan Pickup
no, the road tool has a set width. Creating several roads might look a bit strange, and not very subtle. you can create you own nurbs curve and use as a site modifier, just assign it to the correct class, Site-DTM-Modifier Quote Link to comment
CipesDesign
Unfortunately (and someone please correct me if I'm wrong) the Nurbs Road is not able to have varying widths. The only way I have gotten this kind of configuration to work (and this is a very common configuration) is by various cheats. Specifically I use the Nurbs Road as the basis for the thing then add Pads and Texture Beds to the areas that need to be wider, sometimes on both sides. Here is a screenshot of just such a situation: Quote Link to comment
