Centerline symbol

Recommended Posts

Actually, this is one of the first symbols I made for myself, and it should be quite easy. Use two unfilled text blocks. Set the size and font you want. Nudge the two in an aesthetically pleasing composition. Select both text blocks, choose "Create Symbol," pick your insertion point at the intersection, and you're done. If you want the symbol to be polys instead of text, choose Text>TrueType to Polylines.

There is a tool called Center Line Marker in the Dimensions and Notes Toolset. It is just as described above, consisting of two text characters. It is adjustable for size and has a few different configurations. Unfortunately the Font used is not user-controllable. But other than that it works well...

Not sure exactly when it was added. But I think it's been around since 2009 or 2010... As a general rule, when upgrading it's always a good idea to start with one of the pre-packaged workspaces, perhaps reviewing all of them, then using the one closest to your needs and customizing from there. Also, there is a New Features list at every version and reviewing it also helps!
