propstuff
How would you set up the file if you had a plan where the building floor levels and walls will step up about 3 steps in 2 or 3 places? Everything on one layer with separate walls at each level? One layer with the external walls edited to provide the step levels? Multiple layers for each level with wall heights on each layer? etc etc TIA, N. Quote Link to comment
Mitch Brooks
Nicholas, I haven't had a project like the one you are describing but why would you not use your third method - multiple layers with the right heights for floors and walls? All set up then for the 3D model and proper viewing of 2D floor plans, right? Mitch - a recent visitor to Australia. Quote Link to comment
D Wood
Does the design have storeys ie are there floors above other floors, or is it one storey where the floor, walls and roof cascade down the slope? If it's the former, I would stick with one layer per storey, if it's the latter, I would have just one layer for the floor. Layers are about walls as well as floors. Too many layers and the walls get fragmented or you're fiddling about with 2D representations on some layers, real walls on others. HTH. Edited March 27, 2011 by D Wood Quote Link to comment
