Donald Wardlaw
I just moved VW 2009 from a MBP with Leopard to MBP with Snow Leopard. I found that if Quartz Imaging was active, no fonts were visible. Unchecking made them all visible. Am I discovering an old rule of the road? Regards, Donald Quote Link to comment
Donald Wardlaw
Well, things are indeed messed up. It is true I can see fonts previously created with Quartz Imaging off, when I go to edit text, I get a white text box. I can't see any of the previously typed text until I leave the text box. If I type into the text box, the letters I type will appear at the front of the text string when I exit the text box. So, I can't edit any particular letter or word because I can't see it. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Regards, Donald Quote Link to comment
Donald Wardlaw
Ok, Problem found. I reinstalled everything and problem seems to center on one font which happens to be Arial. Donald Quote Link to comment
michaelk
Donald I've had problems with Arial, also. Did you get it fixed? When you say you reinstalled everything... the OS and VW? or just VW.. mk Quote Link to comment
RGyori
Assuming we are talking about Mac's... Whenever I experience font weirdness with Vectorworks ?not often but can happen when moving up the version ladder? I open the system's Font Book.app and 1. Quit VW 2. Run Font Validation 3. Run Resolve Duplicates 4. Open VW More often than not it clears up a host of font problems. Hope it helps. Bob Quote Link to comment
jpoq
Had a similar problem, the Arial font disappeared when quartz imaging was turned on. The solution was to delete the Arial font and install a new copy of it. The problem was solved for VW2011 and VW2012, finally. Cheers Quote Link to comment
