pixelforce
I do not own a VW yet but need to know; since I own C4D and will be doing all my final renders and animation in C4D I really do not need Renderworks in order to final render, however is there still the option to export/send to Cinema 4D in Architect without Renderworks? grant_PD
You're going to get renderworks regardless with Architect I believe. It might still be worth having if you don't, as then you can place textures and things of that nature as you work in VW, and have them translate over to C4D. Quote Link to comment
pixelforce
Thanks for the reply Grant. If I'm not mistaken you can get Architect with or without Renderworks. My question is; if I get Architect without Renderworks will I be able to Export a C4D model or use the Send to Cinema 4D option - or is that option disable without Renderworks? Quote Link to comment
Guest Wes Gardner
I believe the "Send to..." option requires Renderworks... Quote Link to comment
Jershaun
Hi Pixelforce, I don't use vw2011 however from my knowledge there are 2 ways of getting the model into C4D. One is the "old" way of "export to C4D" and the "new" way "send to C4D". Vw2011 WITH rw, you get both ways (old and new). Vw2011 WITHOUT rw, you just get the old way. So either way, your vw model can be read by C4D. Obviously with rw, you'll have more options though. If for some reason the "old" plug-in isn't included (which I doubt), you can look at the web site below. http://www.maxon.net/downloads/updates/plugins.html You'll see you can download the plug-in (on the vw side of things) but you still have to have the correct version of C4D to read the output from vw (Visualize or Studio). With the "new" plug-in, you can have any version of C4D (Prime, Broadcast, Visualize or Studio). Below is the response I received from tech support from Maxon (I hope it's OK to post it here, if not, moderators please remove): "the exchange plugin is no longer the concern of our company and part of VectorWorks itself, so you can use the plugin with CINEMA 4D Prime as well" HTH, Thanks, Quote Link to comment
